The green dot indicates that the plug is certified as hospital-grade and may be used within patient-care vicinities. This device features Isolated see-thru Wiring Chambers which helps to prevent arcing & flashover during installation of wires for a solid connection. There is an adjustable rear Cord Clamp for attaching a variety of wire sizes (accepts 18~12 AWG). This Grounded 3 Wire, 15 Amp/125 Volt Plug is designed for Commercial and Residential uses.
